APG Security Services was founded by Colonel David B. Kelly, former superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, who instilled in it the qualities of integrity, training and professionalism that he developed in building the NJ State Police into a nationally recognized law enforcement agency. As a client driven contract security company, Colonel Kelly's primary focus and a principal discipline is the protection of businesses such as yours, and the safeguards of people, property and assets associated with the businesses we protect.

Dennis M. Kelly-

Mr. Kelly is a founder of APG Security along with Col. Kelly in 1993 He has extensive security experience having served as Chief Executive Officer of D.B.Kelly Associates, Inc., a regional provider of contract security and investigative services from 1991 to 1995 when he became President of U.S. Security Associates, Inc. a national service provider retiring in 2005 to form Dennis M. Kelly Associates LLC a Risk Assessment and Analysis firm. He joined APG LLC as an owner and CEO in March of 2007.  During Mr. Kelly’s career one of his main focuses has been on providing security solutions to a wide range of areas. He is well credentialed in security and OSHA standards as it relates to many types of facilities and industries. He is certified in Incident Command Systems and NIMS.  He is also a certified instructor in ICS-100/200 through FEMA. He is also certified by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) in healthcare security.

Mr. Kelly is a graduate of Seton Hall University, New York Institute of Security and Polygraph Science and Jay John College of Security Management. He has received certifications in security form the American Society of Industrial Security.  He served as an Industry spokesman for the reorganization of Private Security Act in the State of New Jersey.  He is recognized as an expert in the filed of Security and Polygraph Science in both Federal and State Courts.  Mr. Kelly services as a Director of several corporations and the N.J. State Chamber of Commerce.

Brian J. Kelly-

Mr. Kelly joined D. B. Kelly Associates after holding the position of Director of Investigations for the Transco Group, a primary service contractor devoted to warehousing, distribution and transportation for the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company.  In this position, Mr. Kelly was responsible for implementing investigative services related to insurance fraud, surveillance and undercover operations and personnel background/integrity checks.

Prior to that Mr. Kelly served as a State Investigator for the Division of Criminal Justice in the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General.  In this position, he was responsible for conducting criminal investigations related to major frauds, narcotics and organized crime, and was involved in witness protection details, surveillance operations and background investigations related to state government appointees.

Mr. Kelly graduated from Providence College, and is also a graduate of several university and professional education programs related to security management and investigations, including those sponsored by the American Society of Industrial Security and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.  He holds membership in professional associations including the International Narcotic Officers Association and the Society of Investigators of Greater Newark. 

Bernard J. Murphy, Esq.-

Mr. Murphy is a seasoned business and government executive with over 30 years of experience. He is a member of the Maryland Bar and has extensive law enforcement experience having served before retirement as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Newark Office of the FBI.  Among his duties there, was the operational control of the Bureau’s Tactical Assets including but not limited to surveillance, undercover, intelligence assets and special weapons and tactics teams (SWAT).  Among other things Mr. Murphy coordinated Federal preparedness on behalf of the FBI for the 1984 Olympic Satellite site at Annapolis, Maryland and the 1986 and 1989 New York Bi-Centennial celebrations.  He also has extensive casino industry experience at both an operational and executive level.  He served as Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Bally’s (Casino and Health Club Operations) and Senior Vice President for Special Litigation.  Before joining APG he held the position of Senior Vice President for government relations for the Hilton Hotel Corporation in Beverly Hills, California.  

Matthew X. Holleran-

Mr. Holleran joined D. B. Kelly Associates in 1989 as an Investigator before being elevated to Account Executive.  He left that employer in 1994 to become a detective with the Essex County Sheriff’s Department where he served for five years.  Among his assignments was the elite multi-jurisdictional organized crime task force focused on the elimination of organized auto theft for export in the northern New Jersey/New York City metropolitan area.  Mr. Holleran has recently been accredited by the American College of Forensic Examiners with the highest designated certification for Homeland Security, Level III.  He maintains professional association with American Society of Industrial Security, Society of Investigators of Greater Newark and the Association of Former Intelligence Officers.  His responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day organizational and sales activities of the company.
